The San Francisco Giants are expected to be big spenders this offseason with hopes of returning to the MLB playoffs in 2026.
It will be the first full offseason of Buster Posey's tenure as the team's president of baseball operations, and the ownership has already backed him in his pursuit to improve the team's roster.

Giants predicted to sign Astros' Framber Valdez
The Houston Astros completely collapsed down the stretch of the season, missed the playoffs altogether, and are now expected to lose starter Framber Valdez in free agency.
The southpaw posted a 3.66 ERA over 192 innings this season and punched out 187 hitters. He's one of/if not the top starting pitcher in the free agent market, and the Giants are expected to be in the mix for the Valdez sweepstakes.
In a recent predictions piece by Bleacher Report's Zach Buckley, Framber Valdez is predicted to sign with the Giants on a five-year deal:
"Prediction: Valdez signs a five-year deal with San Francisco."
Making a move for a player like Framber Valdez would be a huge move for San Francisco and would certainly bring them closer to competing for an NL West crown.
Valdez is a two-time All-Star who has finished in the top-10 of CY Young voting in three consecutive seasons.
