Mercedes Mone is currently feuding with the AEW Women's Champion, Kris Statlander. The former WWE star is presently the longest-reigning TBS Champion in history. Additionally, she holds twelve other titles across various promotions like the CMLL World Women's Championship, the EWA Women's Championship, and more.

The former Sasha Banks recently joined forces with long-time rival/former NXT Women's Champion, Athena. The duo will lock horns with Willow Nightingale and Harley Cameron in the ongoing Women's World Tag Team Championship tournament. On this week's Dynamite, Mone had a violent confrontation with Statlander. Right when The Galaxy's Greatest Alien was about to attack the CEO, Athena showed up. The two former WWE stars then brutally assaulted the 30-year-old.

Kris Statlander was eventually rescued by Willow and Harley. Nevertheless, Athena was proud of her actions on Dynamite. A few hours back, the champion sent a message on Instagram.

The War Goddess wrote that she graced All Elite Wrestling with her presence this week and asked Mone and Statlander to feel fortunate that she is around them.

AEW star Athena confirms a massive rumor

It is rumored that AEW or ROH is planning on organising an all-women’s event in the near future. In a recent interview with WFAA, Athena confirmed that Tony Khan is indeed considering the idea. However, timing is the key.

“I know TK has absolutely thought about that. I think it’s just about timing when it comes to those things. And he’s been very open about it. We have the best roster in the world.” she said. [H/T: Wrestle Purists' X handle]

Athena is a modern-day great, and her time in AEW has been decent so far. Only time will tell what the future holds for her in the Tony Khan-led company.
