WWE star CM Punk was signed to AEW from 2021 to 2023. He was quite successful in the Jacksonville-based company, as he held the AEW World Championship twice. Unfortunately, he did not leave on good terms.

Even though The Best in the World was a massive name in All Elite Wrestling, he was constantly surrounded by controversies. He had real-life issues with several wrestlers like "Hangman" Adam Page, Jack Perry, and more. One of Jack Perry's closest friends is former AEW star Joey Janela. The 36-year-old was under the Tony Khan-led company's banner from 2019 to 2022.

A few hours back, a fan on X asked Janela what he thought about Punk. The Bad Boy responded by saying that he has no issues with the reigning World Heavyweight Champion, but added that problems could have arisen if he hadn't left the company in 2022. He also said that he has been a huge Punk fan since a teenager and had all his DVDs.

"No issues with him at all, could’ve been different if I stuck around AEW because my close friendship with Jack. Always a big fan since I was a teenager, had all his best of DVDs," said Janela.

TNA star Nic Nemeth believes that both CM Punk and Jey Uso do not require the World Heavyweight Champion

In a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, former WWE star Nic Nemeth (fka Dolph Ziggler) said that both CM Punk and Jey Uso are completely over and they don't need to hold the World Heavyweight Title at this point.

"I don't think either one of those guys are gonna have it. I don't know. Punk doesn't need it. Jey doesn't need it. But to have it, cool. There's nothing. It's great. Friggin' being world champion is one of the coolest damn things ever, no matter where you are or what you've done. Period," he said.

CM Punk became World Heavyweight Champion by defeating Jey Uso at Saturday Night's Main Event XLI. Hopefully, his reign will be lengthy.
