NBa fans were not happy with the NBA fining Joel Embiid for making a lewd gesture during the NBA Cup game against the Boston Celtics. During a play in the first quarter, Embiid drew an and-1 foul against the Celtics and made an obscene gesture towards the crowd.

After the game, the league communications announced in a statement that the Philadelphia 76ers star was fined $50,000 for his controversial celebration. However, the fans completely disagreed with the league slapping a massive fine on the star player.

Reacting to the post, a fan called the fine "insane."

Another upset fan slammed the league, calling it "soft" for getting offended by such celebrations.

Joel Embiid trolled the NBA after the league fined him a massive $50K for his celebration. After he was fined, the Philadelphia 76ers star posted a GIF showing one of the NBA referees making the same gesture during a live game.

The NBA star also tagged the league in his post on X.

It seems like Embiid was in research mode after the fine. Minutes before he posted the GIF on his X handle, he made another post on X. The NBA star reposted the fine statement from the NBA and asked the league to take the same action against the referees for the same gesture.

"Yall better start fining the refs for doing the “Lewd”, “blocking foul” gesture since I’m not allowed to do it #NFL."

Joel Embiid has been dealing with a knee injury. He played only 25 minutes in the 109-108 loss against the Celtics. The Sixers star will be absent from the game against the Brooklyn Nets on Sunday, as a scheduled part of his recovery process.
