As many Pittsburgh Steelers fans are likely to agree, Rockstar Games has lived up to the namesake for decades between the Red Dead Redemption series, Max Payne series and Grand Theft Auto series. However, their success has led to frustration from gamers who have been patiently awaiting the sequel to Grand Theft Auto V for more than a decade.
Le'Veon Bell and Grand Theft Auto fans were given some rough news on Thursday, when a midday update on GTA VI was posted by the company across social media. The game was delayed from May 2026 to November 19, 2026. It was a delay of about six months and not the first in the eagerly anticipated project's storied development.
The game had originally been given a release date of fall 2025, which would have been around the time of this post. Instead, fans are now forced to wait at least an additional year to get their hands on the title.

Bell joined a growing segment of fans expressing doubts about the state of the project and whether he would ever be able to play the game.

"lol bro, yall not gon give us this game are yall??" Bell posted.Rockstar Games claimed the delay was to allow for additional time to polish things up. There are seemingly additional potential reasons for GTA IV's delay, but those were the ones offered by the developers.
"Hi everyone, Grand Theft Auto VI will now release on Thursday, November 19, 2026," Rockstar Games posted. "We are sorry for adding additional time to what we realize has been a long wait, but these extra months will allow us to finish the game with the level of polish you have come to expect and deserve."Bell and many fans have begun to express doubts not unlike Red Dead Redemption protagonist Arthur Morgan about the promises delivered by the company. Of course, Bell has been busy reacting to another big story that has hit close to home.
