In a season where they have underperformed to this point, the Cleveland Cavaliers have won four of their last five games after defeating the Sacramento Kings on Friday. They are in action Saturday night against the Orlando Magic.
Even though the Kings are one of the worst teams in the league, record-wise, it was not easy by any means for the Cavs, as they pulled away with a close, high-scoring, 123-118 win, fueled by great outings from stars Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley.
While Mitchell poured in 33 points, the bigger story was Mobley's performance, as the big man put together a great stat line with 29 points, 13 rebounds, seven assists, and four blocks, which certainly caught his head coach's attention.
Kenny Atkinson, after the game, described Mobley's game by admitting "that was one of the most dominant performances that I've seen from him."
Mobley is only in his fifth season, and many around the league know his potential is through the roof, as he continues to showcase his versatility as a big man on the court. Still, the only problem has been his lack of consistency as a former third-overall draft pick.
However, every season, Mobley has progressed, increasing his points, assists, and blocks while maintaining consistent rebounding averages.
For Atkinson to make such a powerful comment about how well Mobley played, considering how much basketball he has been around throughout his career, it shows the great deal of trust he has in Mobley, as he knows whenever the big man is at his best, the Cavaliers are a tough team to beat.
