In an effort to add some powerful hitting ability to their lineup, the LA Angels acquired two-time World Series champion Jorge Soler in October 2024. Unfortunately for all parties involved, things have not gone to plan for the 33-year-old in Anaheim.

Soler saw his game time severely limited due to injury in 2025, and he ended up playing only 82 games, finishing the season with a .215 batting average, 12 home runs and 34 RBIs.

Still owed $13 million for the 2026 season, the organization now has a big decision to make regarding the future of the Cuban slugger.

On Sunday, popular baseball content page "Sleeper Angels" posted to X to ask fans about their opinions on the same.

"what should the Angels do with Jorge Soler???" the post read

Many fans appeared to reject the idea of keeping Soler on the roster, and they left comments making their feelings known.

"Eat the contract. Horrible signing." a fan wrote

"Get rid of him" another fan commented "Why on earth did we even trade for this guy to begin with ? Who was stupid enough to make that move?" another fan replied "Drop him off at the airport with one ticket anywhere but Angel Stadium" another fan responded "Definitely not keep him. I'm tired of seeing people swing and miss." another fan shared "Let’s see, he can’t catch a cold, couldn’t hit water if he fell out of a boat and is more brittle than a china doll……. Release him so he can go fishing with Rendon" another fan posted

Angels look for first winning season since 2015 as new manager takes over

The LA Angels endured another difficult season in 2025. Struggling for consistency pretty much all year long, they finished bottom of the AL West with a 72-90 record. This made 2025 the tenth consecutive season they have finished with a losing record, and the eleventh consecutive season they have failed to make it to the postseason.

In an effort to shake things up, manager Ron Washington was relieved of his duties. Former catcher Kurt Suzuki, who spent two seasons in Anaheim as a player, was chosen to replace him.

Under Suzuki's leadership, fans will be hoping the Angels can finally show some signs of improvement and break themselves out of the rut they have found themselves stuck in for a number of years.
