An AEW veteran and broadcast personality has shared his reaction to the passing of a legendary pro-wrestling name. The individual in question, Jim Ross, was responding to the announcement of the death of Robert Caudle.
Good Ol' JR has been signed with All Elite Wrestling since the year of its establishment back in 2019. He has voiced the company's action on both pay-per-view and on television. Ross was last seen on PPV duty this past August at Forbidden Door 2025 in the O2 Arena in London, England. He has not performed commentary on AEW's flagship show Dynamite in some time now, as he has been on the mend from some recent health struggles.
It was revealed this Sunday that another legendary wrestling announcer, Robert Caudle, had passed away at the age of 95. The North Carolina-native was best known for his work in NWA-Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, where he eventually became colleagues with Ross. He also performed for Jim Crockett Promotions, and later joined Smoky Mountain Wrestling, where he was briefly reunited with JR at one point. More recently, Caudle made an appearance on the pay-per-view that hosted Ric Flair's "Last Match" in 2022.
Taking to X/Twitter yesterday, JR expressed his sorrow over Robert Caudle's passing. He penned a touching note paying his respects to his former colleague, writing:

Jim Ross' AEW return likely imminent?
On a recent edition of his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross shared some major updates on his health and personal life, disclosing that he was feeling better than he had in a while, and also that he had sold his condo in Jacksonville, Florida. The iconic commentator furthermore revealed that his return to the announcers' desk in AEW could just be a matter of time, stating:
"Yeah, absolutely! That’s the plan. In the next few weeks, so, yeah, I’m excited about that opportunity.” [H/T - ITR Wrestling]It remains to be seen if this means JR will be on commentary next Saturday at the Tony Khan-led promotion's upcoming pay-per-view, Full Gear 2025.
