Former NFL quarterback and Drew Brees’ New Orleans teammate Chase Daniel has criticized Bo Nix’s performance in Denver’s hard-fought win over the Las Vegas Raiders. The Broncos beat the Raiders 10-7 at home in one of the ugliest wins the league has seen this season.

Nix’s performance was particularly horrendous, as he went 16-of-28 for 150 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. The quarterback was greeted with boos from his own fans, who couldn’t stomach the disappointment despite the win.

Daniel joined the voices of criticism towards the 25-year-old in a video he posted on his X account after the game on Thursday. He said:

“Bo Nix and the Denver Broncos can no longer play like this. And let me explain. Bo Nix has people open downfield. It's open. It might not be the best play-calling in the world. It might not be all this, but I'm telling you right now, when I'm watching the game and I know Sean Payton's offense, there's stuff open and he's just not seeing it, and that's fine. He saw it all last year. He's seen it for a lot of games, but it's been a little troublesome. It's sort of carried over to this year, and it hasn't gotten any better... every ball is just dying. And that's a little concerning, because when I watch the film, we see stuff open. He's in a hurry in the pocket, like he's not getting his feet set.”

Bo Nix responds to fans’ booing

The Broncos’ fans did not hide their displeasure with their team’s poor offensive play against the Raiders, booing their own quarterback. They had good reasons to, as their offense went 5-of-15 on third downs while averaging 3.1 yards per carry against a poor Raiders defense.

Bo Nix addressed the booing in a post-game interview, where he said:

“I’ve been booed before, and I’ll be booed again. Not going to be the last time. It’s obviously unfortunate. You don’t want your own fans booing you, but it’s part of it.”

Although it was the Broncos’ seventh straight win, the fans are apparently getting frustrated with the second-year quarterback. The Oregon alum has thrown interceptions in three consecutive games and hasn’t thrown for more than 300 yards since Week 4.

Nevertheless, Denver sits on top of the AFC West at 8-2, facing the Kansas City Chiefs in their next game.
