The Dallas Cowboys have thrown a lot of darts this offseason to try and fill their running back opening.
They signed Javonte Williams (Broncos) and Miles Sanders (Panthers) in free agency. They drafted Jaydon Blue (Texas) and Phil Mafah (Clemson).
Somebody's gotta win the job, right?
Williams may be the favorite in the clubhouse, and on that front, the Cowboys got very good news in Williams' latest comments.
The former Denver RB spoke about his 2022 ACL tear and how it impacted him for each of the past couple seasons. He was on the field but didn't feel like himself.
Now?
“I feel completely like myself," Williams told the Cowboys website. "I probably can get more flexible and things like that, but as far as healing up, that I feel like is done."

Pro Football Talk broke down Williams' stats before and after his injury.
He had a 4.4 yards per carry average before the knee problem. Since then, he's been at just 3.6 yards per carry.
The Cowboys let 1,000-yard rusher Rico Dowdle walk rather than pay him.
The only way that move looks good is if one of the new guys can seize the job and run with it.
Williams is the leading candidate, and if he's truly healthy for the first time in a few seasons, he might deliver.
