The Maxx Crosby trade saga continues on into another day and the latest rumors surrounding the Las Vegas Raiders star are both good and bad news for potential suitors like the Philadelphia Eagles, Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears.
According to The Athletic's Mike Silver, Crosby does want a change of scenery in 2026, which is good news for the aforementioned teams' hopes of having an opportunity to trade for the five-time Pro Bowler.
However, the bad news is both Silver and Dianna Russini report that the Raiders are stuck on their reported asking price, which is two first-round picks and a player.
Adding to that, Russini notes that suitors are not sure how serious the Raiders actually are about trading Crosby, something that is fair to wonder given their astronomical asking price.
"Based on several conversations with league sources, the Raiders have not moved off from their asking price of two first-round picks and a player," Russini reported. "Several teams are interested, but decision makers are getting mixed signals from the Raiders in regards to their genuine interest in dealing their star."
The Raiders' reported asking price is no doubt too high, and that could very well prevent the Eagles, Cowboys and Bears from making a play.
That price is what the Cowboys got for Micah Parsons, who was a few years younger than Crosby and widely considered one of the best players in the NFL, regardless of position. Crosby is a great player, but not quite that stature.
Of those three teams, the Cowboys are best equipped to make that kind of deal, as Dallas has three first-round picks in the next two years.
But we can't fathom any team giving up that much for Crosby, even more aggressive general managers like Howie Roseman.
That means this situation could drag out well into the offseason, and quite possibly to near the start of the regular season if the Raiders don't budge.
