AEW star Chris Jericho has been in the news over the last few weeks. The star is rumored to be making a return to WWE in the near future.
Y2J was a major star of AEW when the company started in 2019. In fact, he was the inaugural AEW World Champion. Since then, he has been a prominent face on the roster. However, with his contract expiring in December 2025, there are rumors that the Ayatollah of Rock 'N Rolla may return to WWE for one farewell run.
The veteran wrestler has now updated fans about his plans for December 27, the same night AEW hosts its Worlds End event. Jericho took to social media to announce the return of The Winnipeggers. The show will air at 9 PM ET on his YouTube channel. This will collide with AEW's broadcast of their final pay-per-view of the year. The Winnipeggers was Chris Jericho's personal project, which ended its regular run in 2002, but has aired special episodes, especially during the holiday season.
"WE’RE PUTTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!! Come join us on Dec 27 at 9 PM EST for the (possible) triumphant return of #TheWinnipeggers! We have no script, no ideas, and no clue what we are gonna do… So it’s pretty much par for the course! Only on my YouTube channel!"Spoiler on Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes - Check Here!
Chris Jericho has been dropping WWE hints
Over the last few months, Chris Jericho has also been dropping some subtle hints about his future. The wrestling icon has referenced WWE on multiple occasions.
He recently posted his old Y2J titantron on his TikTok, hinting at a possible return. The star also shared an Instagram story featuring him and Triple H from an episode of RAW back in the day. Chris noted that it was one of the loudest pops of his career when he pinned The Game that night.
With the WWE Royal Rumble just around the corner, it will be interesting to see if the Fozzy member shows up during the mega event in Saudi Arabia.
