Drake Maye led the New England Patriots to a sensational 28-24 comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 16 on Sunday. Patriots quarterback Maye went 31 of 44 for 380 yards with two touchdowns and an interception while adding 25 yards on 10 carries. The Patriots were down 24-13 in the fourth quarter, but Maye's heroics helped them complete a turnaround.

On Monday, analyst Colin Cowherd heaped praise on Maye for leading New England to an incredible comeback win over Baltimore.

“If you watch Drake Maye, in the final quarter, he was pressured on almost half of his throws, and yet was money,” Cowherd said on his "The Herd" podcast. “That’s a star quarterback. Trailing, getting hit, drive them down the field.”

Cowherd also compared the Patriots to the LA Chargers, while suggesting that Maye could dominate in the league for the foreseeable future.

“The East Coast version of the Chargers," Cowherd said. "A team with a great coach and a great quarterback that should not be this good is the Patriots. They’re still in a rebuild … Drake Maye’s only 23 years old. He was the rawest of all the quarterbacks in his class. Yet now he’s a top eight, nine, ten quarterback.”

The Patriots took Maye with the No. 3 pick in the 2024 NFL draft. He earned a Pro Bowl honor in his rookie year.

This season, Maye is in contention for the MVP award. He has 3,947 passing yards, 25 touchdowns, eight interceptions and four rushing TDs, leading the Patriots to the top of the AFC East with a 12-3 record.
