Chiefs reveal honest thoughts on quirky stats vs. Bills

The Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills promise to be must-watch viewing in Week 9, and it is for a host of reasons.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen, the playoff implications, and potentially to see if one of the quirkiest trends of this game continues.

The Bills are 4-0 in their last four regular-season games against the Chiefs, but 0-4 in their last four playoff games against the Chiefs, which is a head-scratching stat.

But why is that?

“I don't know, honestly,” Mahomes said. “All the games, other than like two games that we've played against each other, every single game comes down to one play here or there that someone has to make if that's offense, defense, whatever it is. It just comes down to players making plays in big moments, and that's worked out for us in the playoffs and worked out for them and other times."

Chiefs a chance to buck the trend vs. Buffalo

Being 0-4 in the regular season against the Bills in their last four games isn't something we are used to seeing from this Chiefs team, but it gets overlooked because when it really matters in the playoffs, Mahomes and Co. come through with flying colors.

With Kansas City getting its mojo back over the past month on both sides of the ball to be one of the best teams in football, and the Bills being a little wobbly, particularly on offense, the Chiefs have a real chance to roll into Highmark Stadium and get their first win in forever against Buffalo in the regular season.

Now, form lines go out the window when these two play, so expect another tight and contested game, which, as Mahomes alludes to, will come down to a play here or there late in the fourth quarter.

And I wouldn't mind betting that it is Mahomes to make one more play to get his team over the line.
