Chiefs could turbo charge bounce back with 1 move

The Kansas City Chiefs made waves after trading cornerback Trent McDuffie, and the franchise gained a whole host of draft capital.

But the franchise still has plenty of needs, and they can address them before the draft.

One position is receiver. With Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy as the top options, and many others set to hit free agency, Patrick Mahomes could do with another weapon.

But who?

There are several cost-effective options Kansas City could look to, and one, according to Sports Illustrated's Gilberto Manzano, is Romeo Doubs from the Green Bay Packers.

"While the Chiefs have a need at cornerback after trading Trent McDuffie to the Rams, they would be better off addressing that position in the draft," Manzano writes. "Doubs, who had 55 catches for 724 yards and six touchdowns last season, could see a handful of prove-it-deals after a few up-and-down seasons with the Packers. He can prove his worth by catching passes from Patrick Mahomes."

Doubs could be nice Chiefs addition

Seemingly fine not being the top weapon, as evidenced by his time in Green Bay, Doubs would operate as the third receiver in Kansas City, with Rice and Worthy ahead of him, not to mention Travis Kelce if he returns.

That would allow Doubs to go under-the-radar and perhaps become quite the weapon for Mahomes.

Having been productive every year in Green Bay, if Doubs can post another 700+ yard season, the Chiefs will be in a good spot.

He isn't likely to command a big salary either, so this move could make sense for both parties with a prove-it deal the most likely outcome.
