Chelsea have joined Manchester United and made an initial approach to try to sign in-demand Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo next month, as per reports. The Ghana international has been linked with multiple top sides in the Premier League as he prepares to leave the South Coast in January.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea have approached Bournemouth for discussions to understand the conditions of a deal. The Blues are aware of interest from every other Big Six club in the 25-year-old, who has been in sensational form this season.

Antoine Semenyo has a £65 million release clause, which is valid for the first ten days of the window, in his contract with the Cherries. The versatile forward has been approached directly by Manchester City and Manchester United, with both sides leading the race for his signature.

Chelsea had plans of targeting a new attacker in the summer but could make a move for Semenyo as a special opportunity. The Blues tried to sign him as a teenager from Bristol City but failed to match his club's valuation at the time.

Born in West London, Semenyo may be swayed by the location of Enzo Maresca's side into choosing them ahead of his other options. The club's campaign in the UEFA Champions League, as well, will give them an edge over Manchester United.

Semenyo has been instrumental to Bournemouth's performances under Andoni Iraola, with the club rewarding him with a new contract earlier this year. He has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 16 league appearances for the Cherries this season.

Chelsea, Manchester United keeping tabs on Serie A sensation: Reports

Chelsea and Manchester United are among a number of sides watching Atalanta defender Honest Ahanor with keen eyes, as per reports. The 17-year-old centre-back has been impressive for the Serie A side, having joined them from Genoa in the summer.

CaughtOffside reports that Ahanor has greatly interested the recruitment team at Stamford Bridge, and they are willing to bet on his potential, as a result. The Blues are prepared to test the waters with a bid as they look to beat the likes of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Arsenal, and Manchester United to his signature.

Ahanor has appeared eight times in Serie A for La Dea this season and has a contract that runs until 2028. The youngster will be in no hurry to move away from the Bergamo-based club as he continues to develop rapidly into a top-level player.
