Lane Kiffin is in high demand. The Ole Miss Rebels' head coach is a name that has been linked to the cream of the crop for vacant head coaching jobs in football. The LSU Tigers, Florida Gators, and Penn State Nittany Lions are among the top programs vying for Kiffin's signature.

According to On3 Sports, CFB insider Josh Pate has revealed the timeline for Kiffin's decision regarding his future at Ole Miss. While speaking on his College Football Show, Pate said,

"Lane Kiffin’s got to decide on something here. Ole Miss has got to decide on something here. I have got a lot of people asking me, ‘Hey, is Lane going to Florida?’ I don’t know. I don’t think he does. I cannot tell you definitively what’s going to happen with Lane Kiffin."

The veteran CFB insider continued,

"At some point I’m getting an answer from him and it’s going to happen before the Egg Bowl. I’m putting a new contract in front of him, everything he says he needs is on this piece of paper. And he is either going to sign it and we’re going to move on and the noise is going to die down and we’re going to put out a big announcement right before we play Mississippi State like A&M did with (Mike) Elko yesterday. Or we are going to understand we’ll wrap up this regular season and then we’ll go on our separate ways.”

Ole Miss fans will hope that Kiffin makes a decision quickly and potentially stays with the program for many more seasons. Kiffin has thrived since joining the Rebels after a stint with the Florida Atlantic Owls.

The Rebels are currently 10-1 for the season. They'll fancy making a push for the national championship in what could be Kiffin's last year at the helm.

Lane Kiffin declares love for Ole Miss after Florida win

Lane Kiffin led the Ole Miss Rebels to a Week 12 win over the Florida Gators. It was a significant win for Kiffin and the Rebels, given the multiple reports that had linked him to the Gators' job.

Following the game, Kiffin answered questions on his future coaching plans. He said,

"I love what we're doing here. Today was awesome. To even talk about it right now would be so disrespectful to our players and how well they played today. We have got a lot of things going here. Doing really well, and I love it here."

Those words would come as music to the ears of Ole Miss fans, as their beloved head coach has been linked to high-caliber college football and NFL jobs over the past few weeks. It's not much of a surprise considering the success that Kiffin has achieved with the Rebels after taking charge ahead of the 2020 season.

However, the job is not yet finished. Kiffin has one regular-season game left before the college football playoffs. He'll then look to lead the Rebels to the national championship game, and potentially the biggest team prize in college football.
