Jurickson Profar's second PED suspension has opened significant playing time in the outfield for the Atlanta Braves

However, there's a veteran who seems to have the inside edge on the vacant spot in left field.

Based on his spring training performance, Mike Yastrzemski is in line to receive everyday reps alongside Ronald Acuna Jr. and Michael Harris II.

Yastrzemski, the grandson of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski, has four home runs with a 1.451 OPS in 32 trips to the plate in spring training. He signed a two-year, $23 million contract with Atlanta after splitting last year with the San Francisco Giants and Kansas City Royals

Yastrzemski is 'turning heads' at Spring Training

The Athletic's Jim Bowden asked each of MLB's 30 clubs to choose a player from the organization that is "turning heads" this spring, and the Braves noted Yastrzemski as a player they are impressed by.

"Yastrzemski started last year with the Giants before being traded to the Royals at the deadline. On the season, he hit .233/.333/.403 with 28 doubles and 17 home runs in 146 games," Bowden wrote. "He looks ready to be an everyday player for the Braves this season, as he was for much of his Giants’ tenure."

Braves president of baseball operations, Alex Anthopoulos, is high on Yastrzemski's potential impact on the club.

“Mike has had a fantastic spring training on both sides of the ball," Anthopoulos told Bowden. "He’s also fit seamlessly into our clubhouse.”
