Billy Joel fans, you'll have to wait a little longer to see the New Yorker back in his hometown. The "Piano Man" has cancelled his remaining concerts in 2025 after being diagnosed with a brain disorder, Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, he announced in May.
Joel was scheduled to perform with Sting at the New York Mets' Citi Field in August. Instead, he will undergo physical therapy while he refrains from performing.
“This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance,” wrote Joel's team. “Under his doctor’s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period. Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health.”
For five decades, Joel has entertained the masses with classic hits like "Piano Man," "Still Rock and Roll To Me," "Uptown Girl," "We Didn't Start The Fire," and more. The Hall of Famer performed for ten straight years in Madison Square Garden and was also scheduled for a show at Yankee Stadium this summer.
