Bayern Munich are currently riding the high of winning 13 straight games to start the 2025/26 season and veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been exceptional in this period.
The 39-year-old continues to amaze the fans with his sensational performances and reflexes. Neuer remains a cornerstone in this Bayern Munich starting eleven.
Apart from his saves, he acts as a leader in goal for the Bavarians while being an extra man in their buildup.
However, Neuer's future is uncertain as his current contract with the club expires at the end of this season.
As per recent reports in Germany, Bayern Munich have open talks with Neuer about a contract extension for another year which gives birth to the possibility of extending the iconic partnership until 2027.
If these contract rumours materializes then it will be a blow for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, who is thought to be the natural heir for Neuer following his performances last season when the 39-year-old was out with an injury.

But Urbig isn't much worried about Neuer's future as the 22-year-old is focused on working hard and improving on his game under Vincent Kompany's tutelage.
"These are things I don't really concern myself with," Urbig told Rundschau. "Because it's not my place to comment on the decisions Manu makes, or the club makes. I concentrate on the day-to-day work with Manu, the goalkeeping team, and the squad."
What did Urbig say about relationship with Bayern legend Neuer?
While Neuer continue to be Bayern Munich's designated number 1 goalkeeper, Urbig has taken up the second fiddle spot and feels confident to step into his shoes once he decides to move on.
"Our relationship is good; we work well together," Urbig said about his relationship with Neuer. "It’s important to me to emphasize that we have a good relationship within the entire goalkeeping team. Manuel and Sven simply have an incredible amount of experience, which I can learn a lot from.
