Ancestor modules are the latest chase items in The First Descendant. They are character-specific mods that allow you to have custom stats on them, making your characters even stronger. Using them can help you min-max a build without sacrificing any other useful mod. Currently, there are 21 modules in the game, one for each Descendant.
The modules are available through various in-game activities, but collecting them all will take some time. Here is everything you need to know about Ancestor modules in The First Descendant and where to farm them.
How to get Ancestor modules in The First Descendant
All Ancestor Modules drop has an equal drop chance (Image via Nexon)Here are all the ways you can get Ancestor modules:
- Supermassive Receptor (weekly): This is an intercept mission near the Mobile Field Command Outpost within the Axion Plains that has limited, but guaranteed weekly drops. It’s also the primary source of farming Blueprints for the new Descendant (Harris) and Ultimate weapons.
- Sigma Sector (daily): Much like the beginning of Season 3 of The First Descendant, the loot pool of Sigma Sector has been reworked to include Ancestor modules alongside High-Value Relic and Mysterious Coin.
- ETA Shop (weekly): ETA-0 also features a limited stock of Ancestor modules every week following the latest update. To purchase them, you’ll need the Quality Certified ETA Vouchers by defeating the Void Abyss boss.
- Wall Crasher (chance-based): The only way to get Ancestor modules without any limits is to complete the Wall Crasher Intercept Battle. Defeating the boss has a chance to drop the Ancestor module.
- Dimensional Energy Stabilization Reading (daily): One final way to ensure a module is by completing missions throughout Axion Plains. All missions increase the progress towards the final loot.

Getting an Ancestor module is easy, as they are usually guaranteed drops after completing the related activity. However, getting the one you want can be tricky. Apart from the Wall Crasher intercept fight, all other sources have a weekly or daily limit, and while the intercept fight doesn’t have a cap, the drop chance is very low.
Sigma Sector missions also drop an Ancestor module loot box every day (Image via Nexon)Additionally, the mods you get are in the form of Spoils Box, which contains all 21 modules. All mods have an equal drop chance, and you can obtain multiple copies. Here’s a list of all Ancestor modules in the game:

The First Descendant: Ancestor module features explained
You can readjust the stats on the Ancestor module (Image via Nexon)As mentioned, the Ancestor module allows you to have multiple stats within a single module. If you’ve played Warframe, then you probably know this concept as Riven mods. However, instead of weapons, they are specific to characters in The First Descendant. The image above showcases two mods for Gley.
Every player starts with 70 slots, which increases after each Mastery Rank above 10. You can also find both positive and negative stats within the Ancestor module. Marked by green and red arrows, having a negative on a mod greatly improves the effects of the positive stats.
Readjusting a module will grant new random stats (Image via Nexon)Note that you cannot choose the stats by yourself. Each readjustment is random, similar to Weapon Cores, and allows you to select between the new stats or keep the old ones. To readjust an Ancestor module in The First Descendant, you’ll need Gold, Kuiper, and a new resource called Superconductive Cooling Unit from the Supermassive Receptor mission or the Sigma Sector.
Each time you change the stats, the cost of re-rolling will increase until the number on the mod reaches 10. Another thing to note is that the Ancestor module also has a Mastery Rank requirement, which is something to note before spending resources in it.
