Jim Ross commented on John Cena's retirement match
At Saturday Night's Main Event, John Cena competed in his final WWE match against Gunther. The match had a surprising finish as the Greatest of All Time tapped out to the Ring General. The internet wrestling community was split on the finish of the match.
Speaking on his Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross praised Gunther for his body transformation. He also noted that WWE made the right call by having the Ring General go over in the match.
“Here’s a guy that's really made his body. You've seen those pictures of Gunther a few years ago? God damn. I think he's a blessing and I think that they did the right thing… I’m a big fan of his. I guarantee you one thing. Of everybody on the WWE roster, and they've got some great talent, but if I had a territory and I just won the lottery, and I'm going to start my own territory and I got to do a draft, I promise your ass, Gunther will be near the very top echelon. He's got character. He's got integrity. He takes care of himself. He looks good. He’s got one of the great looks in wrestling. So, I think they did the right thing, and because I don't think you could do anything to hurt Cena.”It will be interesting to see when Jim Ross will make his next appearance in AEW.
