The latest trade rumor surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown is good news in more ways than one for possible suitors like the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs and Las Vegas Raiders.
During an appearance on 97.5 The Fanatic recently, ESPN's Adam Schefter confirmed that the Eagles wideout has indeed requested a trade out of Philadelphia.
"Yes, I think that has been conveyed at certain points," Schefter said when asked if the star wide receiver has asked to be dealt.
The Patriots have long been rumored to be one of the front-runners for Brown, and the Chiefs and Raiders could lurk with their respective needs at wide receiver.
The obvious bit of good news here is that a trade demand from Brown makes it more likely he will actually get traded.
But there's another reason why this is good news.
One major roadblock for a Brown trade has been Philly's asking price, which has been reported to be a first- and second-round pick.
That price is steep in and of itself, but that's especially true when you consider Brown is 29 and has concerns over his knee, something that led to the Los Angeles Rams bailing on a possible trade.
On top of those two factors, along with Brown seemingly pushing the issue, it's very possible the Eagles will ultimately settle for less than what they're demanding.
We'll find out if that's the case sometime around June, as that's when the Eagles are expected to pull the trigger on a trade involving Brown, if they do so at all.
