AEW is set to host its Full Gear show this weekend from Newark, New Jersey. It will feature a stacked lineup of top stars in All Elite Wrestling. Just hours ahead of the show, a 5-time champion gave a massive update on his health amid recent issues in professional wrestling.
Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega, who has also been a former International, World Tag Team, and 2-time World Trios Tag Team Champion in AEW, recently spoke about his health issues. The Best Bout Machine has been in his twilight years of his career.
Speaking on CBS Sports, the former AEW World Champion said that it is pretty difficult for him to assess his limits in pro-wrestling. The Cleaner added that some days he feels pain, while on others he is good to go in the ring. Therefore, he has not yet concluded when he wants to sign off for good. However, his condition is not at its best, and Kenny Omega believes that day by day, he is reaching closer to the finale of his career.
“It's very difficult to test your limit and find your limit when what I have affects me kind of day-by-day. Some days I feel great, some days I don't. Not only do I have to find my limit and how far I can push myself on the days I feel good, but I have to find that limit for the days when I feel bad… I've got to give my best. And not only do I have to do that, but I'm trying to do that without making it very clearly obvious that there are bad days and good days for Kenny Omega." said Omega [H/T: @WrestlePurists/X]Check out the full interview below:
The Cleaner often takes long breaks from the action to deal with his internal body issues. Despite all these problems, Kenny always comes back, and he will also compete at Full Gear this Saturday. Omega will team up with Jurassic Express to take on The Young Bucks and Josh Alexander.
Kenny Omega believes AJ Styles inspired AEW
Kenny Omega became the leader of The Bullet Club in 2016 by turning on AJ Styles in NJPW. It was a pivotal moment for the wrestling business as it became the foundation of The Elite, the sub-group of The Bullet Club. Recently, Omega credited Styles for inspiring the start of All Elite Wrestling.
In the same interview on CBS Sports, The Best Bout Machine said that The Phenomenal One has a very keen wrestling sense, and he knows what is best for business. Therefore, his decision to give the leadership to Omega became the core of The Elite, which eventually led to the formation of AEW with Tony Khan.
“AJ, having a keen sense of what’s best for business, knew exactly how to go along with it. In a way, by his turning his back and allowing for that moment to happen, whether he knows it or not, that led to the forming of The Elite. Ultimately, it kind of led to AEW. Him being involved in our lives is very pivotal for [AEW] and our careers.” he saidWhy did you not like this content?
