The Usos are set to challenge AJ Styles and Dragon Lee for the World Tag Team Championship this Monday on RAW in Orlando, Florida. Jimmy and Jey Uso earned the opportunity after they beat The New Day in Hershey, Pennsylvania, two weeks ago.

The eight-time WWE Tag Team champions have an opportunity to take home their first gold since losing the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles in Night 1 of WrestleMania 39. The Usos were still part of The Bloodline back then, and they lost to Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn.

Let's look at three reasons why Jimmy and Jey becoming World Team Championship should happen.

3 reasons why The Usos should win World Tag Team Championship

#1. The Usos legitimize RAW's tag team division

One of the weak points of RAW compared to SmackDown this year has been its tag team division. While the division is stacked with teams like the LWO, The Vision, Judgement Day and American Made, among others, most of them are focused on other things or inactive due to injuries.

The Usos give the red brand a top tag team that could legitimize the division. As great as The New Day was during their heyday, they are no longer the same team as heels and without Big E. With JD McDonagh and Chad Gable injured, Judgment Day and American Made are sidelined.

Cruz Del Toro and Joaquin Wilde mostly wrestle in AAA, as well as the Los Americanos. The War Raiders have lost so much momentum, so Jimmy and Jey should give RAW's tag team division a huge shot in the arm.

#2. Win sets up dream match vs. Lucha Bros

If The Usos win back tag team gold, it could set up one of the biggest dream matches in WWE. There have been rumors of the Lucha Bros reuniting to face Jimmy and Jey, though there's really not a current storyline about it.

Penta and Rey Fenix were indeed reuniting in AAA before a shoulder injury forced the former to miss their match at Guerra de Titanes. Once Penta has healed, maybe Adam Pearce can trade for Fenix, especially if the transfer window concept gets revisited.

There's only one event where Jimmy and Jey Uso vs. Lucha Bros should happen, and it's at WrestleMania 42.

#3. AJ Styles can shift to start of his retirement storyline

One of the biggest storylines heading into 2026 is the impending retirement of AJ Styles. The Phenomenal One announced before Crown Jewel: Perth that he'll be ending his in-ring career sometime next year.

It remains unclear what the current plan is for Styles' retirement storyline, but he's unlikely to get the same farewell tour as John Cena. Nevertheless, Styles deserves to have a really good retirement storyline that could start once he and Dragon Lee drop the World Tag Team Championship to The Usos.

WWE already teased a story between Gunther and Styles, so The Ring General could continue adding legendary names to his resume.
