"You're wasting Josh Allen's prime": Colin Cowherd calls for Sean McDermott's firing amid Bills' struggles

Sean McDermott's Buffalo Bills suffered a shock 30-13 loss to the Miami Dolphins in Week 10 on Sunday. Bills quarterback Josh Allen struggled to find his rhythm, completing 28 of 40 passes for 306 yards with two touchdowns and an interception, but both of his TD passes came in the fourth quarter.

On Monday, NFL analyst Colin Cowherd slammed McDermott and questioned whether he is the right man to lead the Bills forward since he is not getting the best out of Allen and the team as a whole.

"The Bills are 2-3 in their last five games," Cowherd said on his "The Herd" show. "Here's my thing with Sean McDermott: something's always leaking, and it takes him an entire offseason to figure it out. You don't have an off-season. You're wasting Josh Allen's prime. The running game took years to solve, now the passing game, I have to wait until next year to solve it? "Buffalo has been mostly healthy. Schedule, third easiest in the league, and yet they have one win over a team with the winning record. So in their three losses, they've averaged 15 points. With Josh Allen and James Cook, how is that possible? And that's my knock on defensive head coaches. They can't solve offensive issues in-season. They need their GM to solve it."

The Bills hired McDermott in January 2017. He has led the team to five AFC East titles in the past five seasons.

However, McDermott has never led Buffalo to the Super Bowl, something the franchise has been craving for a few years with Allen leading the offense.

Last season, Allen won the MVP award. However, he has had a few games in which he has struggled this season.

The Bills (6-3) will square off against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-3) on Sunday. The Week 11 game will commence at 1 p.m. ET from Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York.

The Bills are still in the hunt to make the postseason. However, their hopes of winning a sixth straight AFC East title might prove to be problematic with the New England Patriots having two more wins than Buffalo.

The Patriots won their seventh straight game when they beat the Buccaneers 28-23 in Week 10 on Sunday.
