Mike McDaniel plays coy over viral Elbo Room photo trolling Bills fans

After the Miami Dolphins' lifeless prime-time loss to the Baltimore Ravens in Week 9, it seemed as though Mike McDaniel might not survive a few more days as the team's head coach.

Plenty can change from one week to the next in the NFL.

While McDaniel's status might not be secure long-term, he got back in the win column with an upset of the Buffalo Bills and quickly did a little trolling after the victory. Or, did he?

Here's what McDaniel had to say about a viral image supposedly showing him trolling Bills fans outside a Fort Lauderdale bar.

Did Mike McDaniel troll Bills fans at the Elbo Room?

The internet had some fun after an image supposedly showing McDaniel trolling Bills fans outside a Fort Lauderdale bar went viral on Sunday, though some questioned whether it's real or just AI-generated.

Just spoke with Dolphins Head Coach Mike McDaniel outside of Elbo Room.

I did congratulate him on the win, but I also let it be known my distaste for his football team. He CLEARLY came by to rub it in.

Ultimately, we parted ways amicably.

The interaction between McDaniel and a Bills fan purportedly took place outside Elbo Room, a Miami-area bar that becomes a haven for Buffalo fans when their team plays the Dolphins in South Florida. Images earlier in the weekend showed Bills fans crowding the bar and displaying "Bills Mafia Takeover" banners over the deck.

Did McDaniel actually drive by Elbo Room after the game? Even he didn't sound so sure. Here's his response.

Mike McDaniel press conference

After an X user posted the photo and claimed he spoke to McDaniel outside Miami bar Elbo Room, reporters questioned the Dolphins coach on Monday about the real story.

"That's why I like the good old days, the throwbacks of yore, where you could trust the internet and the images, because that is pretty detailed," McDaniel told reporters. "I do live in that area, but I mean, AI, right?

Asked whether he was denying that the image was real, McDaniel remained evasive.

"So, I mean, I live in that area. AI is real. That's what I got for you," McDaniel said. "For the record, I did not answer it. That's the punch line of the humor."

The mystery continues.

Where does Mike McDaniel live?

McDaniel does own a house in Fort Lauderdale, so he could have just been enjoying his drive home when he decided to troll Bills fans nearby.

While some on social media pointed out that Hard Rock Stadium isn't particularly close to Elbo Room, meaning McDaniel would have had to go out of his way to drive past it, the Dolphins coach deciding to swing past it on his way home makes the story much more realistic.
