A popular WWE legend has recently addressed his current status with AEW. Following a brief hiatus from the company, they have hinted at their imminent return.

Jim Ross has been part of the early beginnings of the Jacksonville-based promotion, as he was heavily featured on the commentary desk alongside the likes of Taz, Excalibur, and Tony Schiavone. However, in recent years, he has been plagued with health issues, including colon cancer earlier this year. This has forced him to only make sporadic appearances instead, such as during pay-per-views.

On a recent episode of his Grilling JR podcast, Ross talked about his time with AEW. He revealed that with his health being better, he'll make more appearances for the company soon. The veteran mentioned how he could now travel more for pay-per-views and how he was fortunate to be able to do things this way.

"I'm having a blast working for AEW," Ross said. "Now that my health is better, you'll be seeing more of me on AEW I think. I'll certainly continue to work the PPV's. Until recently...I hadn't felt well enough to travel and then go out and do a show. And the way Tony's using me, and the way he's booking me is perfect. I do the main events. And I'm honored to do that, and help get guys over and all that stuff, and have fun. I have fun doing this. I'm an old timer, but I'm still getting to play. And I'm blessed to be able to do that, and very thankful."

The WWE Hall of Famer spoke about the AEW World End main event later on. He discussed MJF's inclusion in the match and how he reminded him of Paul Heyman. Ross then made a major claim, as he believed there was a chance that Friedman would walk away with the world title.

"This is an All-Star game man," Ross said. "This is a career maker, a money maker...and as weaselly as he is, and he reminds me so much of Paul Heyman at times, but I'm not going to say that MJF's not going to walk away with the title, with a smile on his face." [H/T WrestlingInc.]

The AEW veteran was recently spotted with several legends

A few days ago, Sting made an appearance at Wrestleverse Fest in Pittsburgh, as this would be his final event in his iconic face paint. 2025 is the last year fans will get to catch him with this look.

Jim Ross was also present at the event, as he did signings and meet and greets alongside his long-time commentary partner, Jerry 'The King' Lawler. A photo surfaced on social media that saw Ross being spotted with Lawler, Sting, and Kevin Nash.

Jim Ross continues to be a key figure within AEW, and with all that has happened this year, it would be great to see him appear at Worlds End, and in the next few pay-per-views in 2026.
