Giancarlo Stanton is on repeat.
The New York Yankees' slugger has started the 2026 MLB season in a way that's almost hard to fathom.
These are his stat lines at the plate from the first five games of the new campaign:
- 2-for-4
- 2-for-4
- 2-for-4
- 2-for-4
- 2-for-4
Yep, he has gone exactly 2-for-4 in all five games.
Yep, he's 10-for-20 on the young season, a sweet .500 batting average.

In the first series against the Giants, Stanton had five singles and a home run.
Now in the first two games against the Mariners, Stanton has gone for two doubles and two singles.
It's really just a ridiculous start in every way. He's only the third Yankees player to ever start the season with at least five multi-hit games, but it seems unlikely that anyone for the Yanks has ever gone exactly 2-for-4 in each of the first five games of a season exactly. Has anyone ever done it for any team? It seems like it has to be unique.
It's a good thing Stanton is hitting like this in the early going, because aspects of the Yankees' lineup haven't quite heated up yet.
For now, Stanton is going to just try to keep doing exactly what he's doing. If he goes 2-for-4 in every game of the whole season, it'll work out quite nicely in the Bronx.
