The Memphis Grizzlies will fall short of the postseason this year, as they’re currently 11 games behind the Golden State Warriors for the final Play-In spot with only eight games remaining.
With the Grizzlies' 2025-26 season coming to an end, the franchise elected to sign a 22-year-old guard from France who didn’t appear in an NBA game before joining Memphis.
“The Memphis Grizzlies today announced the team signed forward Adama Bal (uh-DAHM-uh Ball) to a 10-day contract,’ the Grizzlies announced Saturday. “Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed."
“Bal has appeared in 29 games during the 2025-26 NBA G League Tip-Off Tournament and regular season and has averaged 7.4 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 18.4 minutes for the Westchester Knicks in his first NBA season after going unselected in the 2025 NBA Draft.”
After ending his collegiate career with Santa Clara in 2025, Bal went undrafted but quickly signed with SIG Strasbourg (LNB Pro A) to begin his professional career.
Bal never competed with the French club, though, prompting him to sign with the Westchester Knicks (New York’s G League affiliate).
The 22-year-old has already appeared in two games with the Grizzlies since joining the franchise over the weekend, averaging 6.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.
It’s reasonable to assume that Bal’s main goal is to end his first NBA season on a positive note.
