For the New York Yankees, addressing their outfield will be amongst the top of their laundry list for this offseason.
Last season, the Yankees outfield was one of the best in all of Major League Baseball. Obviously, Aaron Judge was his typical MVP candidate self, but the team also saw positive contributions from Cody Bellinger, and Trent Grisham. Both players were traded to the Yankees in each of the past two offseasons, with Grisham coming in alongside Juan Soto in December 2023, and Bellinger coming from the Chicago Cubs last offseason.
Given the team’s recent track record of success in the trade market, MLB.com’s Thomas Harrigan mapped out a scenario in which the Yankees work their magic in the trade market once again. He noted players such as Randy Arozerena of the Seattle Mariners, and Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians as potential targets for the Yankees.
“The outfield trade market has served the Yankees well in each of the past two offseasons,” Harrigan said. “Randy Arozarena, Steven Kwan, Adolis García, Taylor Ward, Jo Adell, Brendan Donovan and Luis Robert Jr. are among the best outfielders who could be available via trade this offseason if the Bronx Bombers want to go back to that well again.”
The Yankees will now take the time this offseason to assess all of their options for outfield upgrades as they look to make another title push in 2026.
