A WWE Hall of Famer's daughter has shared an update on her training to become a wrestler. Over the years, fans have witnessed many second and third-generation stars step inside the squared circle. It looks like another name is keen to follow in those footsteps.
Back in May, Joanna Sowards, the daughter of John Tenta, better known as Earthquake in WWE, revealed that she has been training to become a wrestler.
Now, she has shared a fresh update on her training in a feature from Susan Moses & Monica Robins of WKYC. In the video, she talked about her training as she is trying to emulate her father.
"If I'm stepping into the ring, if I'm running the ropes, there's even been occasional times where I'm trying to learn some of my dad's moves," she said.Earthquake passed away in 2006 after a two-year battle with bladder cancer and was posthumously inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year along with his Natural Disasters partner, "Typhoon" Fred Ottman.
Joanna was 17 at the time of her father's passing and revealed that training to become a pro wrestler is helping her heal.
"I feel like I'm healing parts of that 17-year-old after my dad died," she mentioned.Joanna fondly remembers her father for his WWE run
In the feature, Joanna fondly recalls his father's run as a big heel in WWE. She said her father's Earthquake gimmick was the most memorable, and he had some great matches with Hulk Hogan and Jake the Snake Roberts.
Apart from training to become a pro wrestler, Joanna also serves as a cancer chaplain at University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center. She said an internship in chaplaincy helped her find her purpose after her father's passing.
She will now hope to emulate the legendary Earthquake and make a mark in the squared circle.
