Heat has continued interest in Giannis Antetokounmpo, three players named trade candidates in deal with Bucks

The Miami Heat have gone star hunting over the past few years, but haven’t necessarily been able to land the perfect player for what they need.

Despite that, the Heat have still done a strong job of adding players who fit their mold, as head coach Erik Spoelstra consistently gets the most out of his roster. However, giving him a true superstar, as we saw years ago, could put Miami over the top.

One player who could eventually be available is Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Michael Scotto of HoopsHype had the latest on the situation involving the Heat and other teams around the league.

“In fact, rival executives interested in trading for Antetokounmpo who’ve spoken with HoopsHype said they don’t believe Milwaukee wants to move him right now. With that said, it’s unlikely to keep teams such as the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets, and others from continuing to monitor Antetokounmpo’s situation to varying degrees, looking ahead...

“Miami has gauged the trade market on small forward Andrew Wiggins, who has a $30.17 million player option for the 2026-27 season. Tyler Herro, a Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, has maintained his All-Star form from last season after missing the first 17 games of the season. Terry Rozier’s expiring $26.64 million contract also looms,” he wrote

From the Bucks’ perspective, it’s tough to justify getting back Tyler Herro, Terry Rozier’s salary, and not much more.

Milwaukee would need a significant haul of draft assets to even consider a deal like this, making it unlikely that Miami is the perfect landing spot for Antetokounmpo.
