The WWE Universe was greeted with a shocking return on the latest edition of Friday Night SmackDown. However, the company made a huge botch during the star's entrance. The name in question is Matt Cardona (fka Zack Ryder).

Matt Cardona was better known as Zack Ryder during his first tenure with World Wrestling Entertainment, which lasted from 2005 to 2020. After leaving the company, he made a huge name for himself on the independent circuit. Cardona recently returned to WWE TV to compete under his Zack Ryder moniker. However, the star has finally returned to the Stamford-based promotion under his real-life name.

On the latest edition of SmackDown, Kit Wilson came out to cut a promo, but was surprisingly interrupted by Matt Cardona. However, the company made a massive botch with Matt's entrance as it played his Zack Ryder theme song for a few seconds before transitioning it into his Cardona theme. Even Michael Cole and Corey Graves were confused about what they should call the former United States Champion.

Matt Cardona and Kit Wilson then locked horns in a singles match. Both stars put on an incredible display of action inside the ring. In the last stages of their match, Cardona hit his opponent with the Rough Ryder, as called on the spot by Michael Cole, to win the match via pinfall.

It will be interesting to see what the Triple H-led creative team has planned for the star's future in WWE.
