Brian Ortega hits back at trolling over Alex Pereira and Tracy Cortez dating

MMA has a new power couple in Alex Pereira and Tracy Cortez. The pair announced the news through a series of intimate pictures on New Year. Before dating 'Poatan', Cortez had a high-profile relationship with former featherweight title challenger Brian Ortega.

Sure enough, fight fans were less than sensitive about the development, with many going full-on troll mode on Ortega. 'T-City', however, seems to be handling the news and the resulting fallout relatively well. In a recent Instagram story, he clapped back, proclaiming that he doesn't concern himself with how others live their lives:

"I see you guys hitting me up trying to get a rise out of me [y’all creative, I give you that]. Listen up, I’m beyond happy and have been happy. It ain’t my style to talk about others' personal lives and choices, nor is it my business. My business is my family and my career, 2026 and every year after will always be about them."

Cortez and Ortega reportedly started dating around 2020 and were later rumored to be engaged. 'T-City' regularly cornered Cortez during her fights and even had a tattoo of her name.

The pair went through a highly publicized breakup in 2023, though the reason behind their split has never been disclosed.

While Brian Ortega and Tracy Cortez's time together might have ended on a sour note, it seems that in their heyday, the duo enjoyed a healthy, understanding relationship.

When a reporter asked 'T-City' about the boons and banes of his relationship with Cortez during the media day for his 2022 fight against Yair Rodriguez, Ortega said:

"No it's always good man you know like we understand each other's work we see what we do and it helps, because someone who doesn't understand what we do they're like damn you're so f**king selfish all you do is care about you and your career you don't even care about me or whatever it is right whatever these situations may be with fighters who dealiwith a partner who doesn't fully understand what they're involved and this just helps to me. It helps because it's like, 'Yo, I did this today,' and right off the bat she's like, 'Oh, f**k yeah you're tired. I'm gonna just leave you alone.' I'm like, 'Cool, thank you.'"
