Woman claims she was kicked off Frontier flight for being deaf — but airline tells a different story

A woman alleges in a viral TikTok video that she was discriminated against for being deaf when she was kicked off a recent Frontier Airlines flight, but the airline says she was booted over booze — and disputed whether she even has a hearing problem.

The woman, only identified by her user name legallyswiftie13 on TikTok and Instagram, shared her video over the weekend with a caption, “Frontier Airlines kicked me off a flight because I’m a deaf person who couldn’t hear the flight attendant.”

The video shows an interaction between the woman and several members of the discount-carrier flight crew trying to make sense of the situation.

As a flight attendant speaks to the captain at the front of the plane, the woman is seen crying and can be heard saying, “This is so embarrassing” and, “This is straight discrimination.”

The flier indicated she was deaf on her ticket and that she would not resist if they asked her to deplane.

A crew member eventually returns to her seat to let her know that a decision has been made to remove her from the flight.

“I didn’t do anything wrong,” the woman says mournfully in the clip as she gathers her things.

She adds in her video that airline staffers were apologetic to her at the gate when rebooking her on another flight.

The video garnered more than a million views and over 3,000 comments, many of them critical of the airline and suggesting she file a discrimination suit.

But Frontier Airlines rep gave The Post a very different version of events Tuesday.

“According to the flight attendant directly involved in the matter, the passenger boarded with an open container which she admitted contained alcohol when questioned,” the representative said, noting that it’s a violation of federal law and airline policy to bring alcohol on board.

“When the flight attendant informed the passenger of the violation, the passenger rapidly consumed the remaining alcohol in the cop before handing it over,” the rep said in the statement.

“The flight crew made the decision to remove the customer from the aircraft and she was rebooked on a later flight.”

The airline also disputed the woman’s claim that she was deaf and said no disability status was indicated on her ticket.

“There was no indication on the passenger’s reservation that she is deaf or has any form of disability and, according to various personnel who interacted with the passenger, she was clearly and effectively conversing with them during interactions.”

The woman did not respond to Post requests for comment through TikTok and Instagram.

In one of her videos posted in December with the caption “How I found out I’m going deaf in my 20s,” she tells the story of how she was told during a routine ear cleaning that she was losing her hearing.

She claims she almost got early cochlear implant surgery until she realized at the last minute that she would have lost her natural hearing from the procedure.

“Honestly, maybe I should have let them go through with the surgery because they were not going to explain that to me, and I would have woken up just like, deaf, and maybe I could have sued for medical malpractice,” she said.

“I’m eventually gonna go deaf anyway, may as well have gotten a payout or something.”
