While heading to dinner with a close friend and Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander, Washington Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin narrowly avoided major damage to his Mercedes G-Wagon in a humorous parking garage incident.

The funny moment was captured in Nylander’s latest YouTube vlog, "Road, Rest & Giving Back." As Sandin drove his rugged G-Wagon out of the Four Seasons hotel’s underground garage, the vehicle’s tall roof collided with the low exit barrier arm.

The impact produced a loud crunch, bending the gate and leaving it stuck on the roof.

"Oh my God!" said Sandin. "Have you ever driven in this car before?" William Nylander jokingly asked. "I have driven in this with this before," Sandin replied.

Fortunately, the G-Wagon emerged virtually unscathed:

"The car is actually fine for what just happened,” one of them notes in the clip, joking that it’s “exactly what it’s made for.”

They quipped about the hotel “lowering the ceiling” and even paid for parking while technically still inside the garage.

"It wasn't as bad as I thought it was," Nylander noted in the clip." I'm so happy I was not driving the car."

The rest of the vlog highlighted William Nylander's off-ice routine, including recovery sessions with saunas and cold plunges alongside his brother Alex. He also visited a Nike store where the Leafs star surprised kids with holiday gifts.

William Nylander did not play in the Maple Leafs' loss to Red Wings due to injury

William Nylander sustained a lower-body injury during the Maple Leafs' 7-5 win over the Ottawa Senators on Saturday. The 29-year-old Swede was again ruled out for the Maple Leafs' 3-2 OT loss against the Detroit Red Wings on Sunday.

He is currently considered day-to-day, and it remains unclear whether he'll be fit for the Leafs' next game against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Nylander leads the Leafs with 41 points through 14 goals and 27 assists in 33 games this season.
