The Memphis Grizzlies remain incredibly shorthanded.
Of the players they expected to be in their rotation before the season, four remain out: Zach Edey, Ty Jerome, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Brandon Clarke.
The Grizzlies take on the Los Angeles Lakers in a national broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, but these will not be the full strength Grizz at all.

Why isn't Zach Edey playing?
Edey is out due to an injury in his left ankle.
He had surgery in June to address laxity in that left ankle.
He's expected to miss between six-to-nine weeks from the start of the season.

Why isn't Ty Jerome playing?
Jerome will have to wait to make his Grizzlies debut due to injury.
Memphis announced on Oct. 20 that Jerome has a calf injury and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.
Why isn't Scotty Pippen Jr. playing?
Scotty Pippen Jr. is looking at a long absence.
ESPN's Shams Charania reported on Oct. 18 that Pippen is having a procedure done for a left big toe injury. He's going to be re-evaluated in 12 weeks.
In the meantime, the Grizzlies are relying heavily on Ja Morant and Jaren Jackson Jr. to lead the charge. Not a bad duo to count on even with so many absences.
