Last time most sports fans saw Tom Cruise, he was on hand for the other kind of football, participating in the pre-match ceremony at the World Cup final.

With the NFL back in action, Cruise made the trip to Kansas City to see the Chiefs take on the Broncos on "Monday Night Football."

Cruise had the most coveted seat in the house: right next to Taylor Swift, who was in the building to cheer on husband Travis Kelce as he starts what could be his final season.

Here's what we know about Cruise's appearance at Chiefs vs. Broncos.

Why Cruise is at the game isn't clear. The actor is, however, a longtime sports fan, and he was part of Fox's Super Bowl 59 broadcast when he took part in an introductory video before the Chiefs faced the Eagles two seasons ago.

While Cruise isn't known to live near Kansas City, the opportunity to watch one of the week's most anticipated games next to a global superstar is tough to pass up.

Is Tom Cruise a Chiefs fan?

Cruise is not known to be a Chiefs fan. While he hasn't openly said he is a fan of a particular team, Jimmy Kimmel claimed in 2022 that Cruise is a Giants fan. Cruise was born in upstate New York and went to high school in New Jersey, so that certainly adds up.

If Cruise is a Giants fan, he has to be feeling positive after Week 1. As long as he's a guest of Swift in her suite at Arrowhead Stadium, he may have to be a Chiefs fan for at least one night.
