While the Philadelphia Eagles walked away with the win against the Washington Commanders in their opening match of the season, taking down their NFC rivals, 24-22, the game was far from pretty.
The game looked similar to some of last year's games for Philadelphia, as the team would struggle to get things going on the offensive end of the field, which would allow their opponents to creep back into the game. One area that didn't have the best game was the Eagles' offensive line, and one player really stuck out in this regard: Landon Dickerson.
At various points throughout the game, Dickerson just looked beaten at every front, which was something that he talked about on Monday afternoon, being fully aware that he wasn't at his best against the Commanders.
But it appears that there was a valid reason for Dickerson's struggles during the season opener; he was playing through an injury, which is set to cost him some serious time.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Jeff McLane, the Eagles' O-Lineman is set to land on the injury reserve due to various injuries, which could see him out for upwards of four weeks, which means his talents will be absent against the likes of the Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Los Angeles Rams, and Jacksonville Jaguars. So to put it simply, the Eagles will miss him against some serious talent.
It was only last season that Dickerson had faced some lingering issues regarding his meniscus, which had impacted him the season prior. His performance on Sunday afternoon isn't indicative of how the Eagles' player can perform at the height of his abilities, having been named to a Pro Bowl roster on three separate occasions.
How Philadelphia intends to fill in for Dickerson, and how they perform, will be something to look out for in the weeks to come.
