Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10 is almost around the corner making it one of the major milestones in the competitive side of the game. This global level cap increase expands progression with new gears and endgame items. Players that prepare well for this will gain a solid advantage as the new content goes live.
From gears and their upgrade materials to new activities and systems, there is a lot to account for before the breakthrough arrives. This guide covers everything you need to know to be ready on day one of Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10.
How to unlock Breakthrough 10 in Where Winds Meet
Breakthrough 10 is soon approaching for the global release (Image via NetEase)Unlocking Breakthrough 10 is straightforward but non-negotiable. You must reach character level 70 and complete Taipang Mausoleum up to floor 9. Once these requirements are met, you will be eligible to advance immediately when the breakthrough becomes available.
Breakthrough 10 raises the level cap from 70 to 75, but the level increase itself is only part of the story. The real impact comes from new gears, expanded progression systems, and the endgame material grind.

Where Winds Meet Tier 71 Gear and why it matters
Tier 71 gear chest (Image via NetEase)The most important reward tied to Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10 is the introduction of Tier 71 gear, including gold-rarity legendary items. These will be the final gear set tier for the current season, which will be your main gear for some time, making it important to optimize and min-max the gear after Breakthrough 10.
Among Tier 71 items, the gold rarity bow and ring are notoriously difficult to craft because of their low 3% chance. Because of this, it is strongly advised to begin stockpiling crafting materials now like Dried Dogwood Berry and Pheasant Feather.
Avoid spending these resources on Tier 61 gear and wait until the Tier 71 unlock. Considering how these crafting materials have a limited weekly availability, having enough material reserves will let you attempt crafting more of these high-rarity versions as soon as the breakthrough launches.

Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10: Skill and progression preparation
Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10 will allow players to max out their Inner ways (Image via NetEase)There is relatively little pre-farming required for skills just like other previous breakthroughs.
- Martial arts will be available to upgrade from level 70 to 75.
- Mystic skills are capped at Tier 4 and do not expand with Breakthrough 10, meaning you can ease off collecting materials from Outpost Challenges if your mystics are already maxed out.
- Inner ways become the most important with Breakthrough 10. Inner ways can now be upgraded all the way to the max Tier 6, which is a major power increase. Inner ways Note Chests and Tips Exchange will become critical means to stock up on Inner ways upgrades even before Breakthrough 10 arrives.

Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10: New Heroes Realm and Sword Trial rewards
New currency, Gear Echo: Fiery Heart, will be a reward from Level 71 Sword Trial onwards (Image via NetEase)After Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10, Sword Trial will continue to host Sleeping Daost and Murong Yuan as the main bosses. But in Hero’s Realm you will now have beat the Twin Lions and Ghost Master.
Irrespective of which mode you play first, both will reward you the crucial Tier 71 gear chests, which offer higher legendary drop rates and access to new Tier 71 tuning materials.
Sword Trial introduces a new currency called Gear Echo: Fiery Heart. Alongside the standard Tier 71 chests, this currency can be exchanged in the seasonal shop for valuable progression items.

Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10: Seasonal Shop changes and Gear Targeting
The seasonal shop is expected to expand significantly. Based on the Chinese version, it will eventually have much higher-tier gear.
One of the most impactful additions to the new shop will be the ability to purchase specific gear pieces directly from chests, eliminating the reliance on RNG. If you are chasing a specific gear piece, like just a helmet, you can select it specifically instead of relying on luck.
Tier 71 Attunement Stones for both PvE and PvP are also expected to be available in the new shop post Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10.

Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10 other preparations
Path Trial as seen in the game (Image via NetEase)Where Winds Meet Breakthrough 10 is the final breakthrough of the season that introduces a new gear tier. With the season ending on February 6, Tier 71 gear will remain relevant for over a month. This makes it an ideal time to start using most of the saved pillow pills to restore energy and grind aggressively.
Do not overlook Path Trial. After finishing Taipang Mausoleum, complete the Foundation and Divine Trials, then shift focus to Path Trials. You receive five attempts per week, and attempts are only consumed on successful clears. First-time clears are especially rewarding, granting large numbers of Inway Notes and chests, making this one of the most efficient Inway farming methods available.
