The regular season of the UFL's sophomore campaign has concluded, and we're onto the playoffs with a fantastic doubleheader on Sunday. The first game, the USFL title game, will feature the Birmingham Stallions and the conference rival Michigan Panthers in the afternoon.
The Stallions (7-3) are looking to run it back after winning the UFL's inaugural championship last year. They might have a tougher road to the title game this time around, though, as the Panthers (6-4) served as the league's top-scoring offense this season.
Michigan scored 245 points on the campaign, while Birmingham ranked an extremely close second with 244. The Stallions have also played the Panthers tough over the first two years of the UFL — they're a perfect 6-0 against their USLF conference foes.
The Panthers might have the secret sauce to a championship run: Bryce Perkins. The QB, who was recently named to the All-UFL Team, has been widely considered the best UFL player ever. He hasn't played in Michigan's past three games due to an ankle injury, but many believe he was just held out as a precaution and in preparation for this game.
Ricky Person and Dean Cain led the charge for the Stallions. The RB/WR duo combined for 831 yards and 11 TDs this season, and they put up 137 yards and two TDs when these teams met in Week 2. Cain also tallied 55 yards and two TDs against Michigan in Week 9 (Person did not play in that contest).
This should be a fantastic postseason tilt, so plan your watch party now. Here's everything you need to know about today's Stallions vs. Panthers game, including TV and streaming options.
