The WNBA Playoffs are looming, but it will be a while before Indiana Fever fans see their team take the court again.
The league is taking a three-week break so its top players can represent their countries at the FIBA Women's World Cup in Berlin. That includes Team USA's Aliyah Boston and Caitlin Clark along with Stephanie White, who will serve as an assistant coach for the Americans.
While the championship race remains top of mind for W fans, the World Cup will provide a fascinating late-season diversion. Watching Boston and Clark suit up in the same uniform as league rivals like A'ja Wilson, Paige Bueckers, Angel Reese and Breanna Stewart should make for must-see viewing.

When do the WNBA Playoffs start?
The 2026 WNBA Playoffs are set to begin on Sunday, Sept. 27. The first round consists of best-of-three series matching the No. 1 seed vs. the No. 8 seed, No. 2 vs. No. 7 and so on.
The Fever have clinched a playoff spot but currently sit in the middle of the pack, so their seeding could vary considerably depending on how the final week of the regular season unfolds.
