Champions League schedule 2026-27: Complete match dates, times, team fixtures for UEFA tournament

Paris Saint-Germain are aiming to make it three Champions League titles in a row but have been handed some tough initial assignments in 2026-27.

Luis Enrique's team must take on Barcelona and Manchester City after being paired with their fellow European heavyweights in the league phase draw.

Last season's beaten finalists Arsenal have also been dealt a tough hand and must face Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund among their eight fixtures.

But when will those matches take place?

The Sporting News brings you a full roundup of the 2026-27 schedule, which will be filled out as the campaign progresses.

UEFA Champions League fixtures 2026-27: Schedule of matchdays

The league phase of the 2026-27 Champions League begins in the first full week of September. Teams will play eight league-phase games, hoping to put themselves in position to secure a knockout-stage place.

The top eight teams in the table will advance straight to the Round of 16, earning a bye through the playoff round. Teams finishing 9th-16th in the table will advance to the knockout-playoff round where they will be seeded in the draw, selected to face one of the clubs finishing 17th-24th in the table. Teams finishing 25th-36th will be eliminated from European competition and are not eligible to drop to the Europa League or Conference League.

From there, the eight knockout-playoff round winners will advance to the Round of 16, where they will meet the eight direct qualifiers. At that point, the knockout bracket will be set by the final draw, and the remaining teams will contest the latter stages of the competition to determine the 2026-27 European champions.

The Champions League League Phase draw took place on Thursday, August 27 to set the matchups for the entirety of the eight-game schedule.

However, the fixture list themselves are not known until they are released not later than August 29.

Knockout Playoff round

The knockout playoff draw will take place on January 29, 2027 at which point the seeded teams (clubs finishing 9-16 in the League Phase table) will each be drawn against one unseeded team (clubs finishing 17-24 in the League Phase table).

The Champions League knockout phase draw will take place on February 27, 2027 and will set the bracket for the entire rest of the Champions League tournament. In this event, the Round of 16 matchups will be set, as will all the rest of the potential matchups for the quarterfinals, semifinals and final.
