Sean "Diddy" Combs' release date has been pushed back by a month amid allegations that the rapper violated prison rules shortly after he was transferred to Fort Dix in New Jersey to serve his 50-month prison sentence. The rapper, who was found guilty of two counts of "transportation to engage in prostitution" following his s*x trafficking trial in July 2025, was initially scheduled for release on May 8, 2028.

However, People Magazine reported a change in the release date when viewing the Federal Bureau of Prisons inmate records on November 12, 2025, noting that Diddy's release date has been pushed to June 4, 2028. It is unclear why the rapper's release date has been pushed as of this article.

However, several reports claim that Diddy has been caught violating prison rules following his transfer from Metropolitan Detention Center to Fort Dix. The rapper, who was transferred to Fort Dix in New Jersey on October 30, was allegedly caught making homemade alcohol in prison, as per a TMZ report published on November 7, 2025.

The rapper allegedly made alcohol using Fanta, sugar, and apples, which inmates reportedly fermented for a couple of weeks to create an alcoholic substance. Combs was allegedly caught by officials, who initially planned to move him to a new unit before allowing him to remain in his old unit. Diddy's representative has denied reports of the rapper making and consuming alcohol, with spokesperson Juda Engelmayer telling TMZ:

"Mr. Combs is in his first week at FCI Fort Dix and is focused on adjusting, working on himself, and doing better each day. As with any high-profile individual in a new environment, there will be many rumors and exaggerated stories throughout his time there—most of them untrue. We ask that people give him the benefit of the doubt, the privacy to focus on his personal growth with grace and purpose."

Sean Combs stated that he was sober "for the first time in 25 years" in a letter to Judge Arun Subramanian ahead of his sentencing on October 3. Notably, his legal team had previously requested that he be transferred to Fort Dix to enrol in the facility's Residential Drug Abuse Program (RDAP).

Diddy was caught making a three-way phone call from prison

On November 10, 2025, CBS News reported that Diddy allegedly violated another prison rule by engaging in a three-way prison phone call. During the call, reportedly made on November 3, Diddy was allegedly heard speaking to an unnamed woman about arranging for prison visits and told her to bring "200 singles" in cash.

Halfway through the call, he told her that he needed to speak to "the digital person" regarding blogs. When the woman asked whether she should add the person to the call, the rapper replied "yes," and an unnamed man joined the conversation. This reportedly violated the Bureau of Prisons' rule, which prohibited inmates from having phone calls with more than one person or contacting anyone not on the pre-approved call list.

Diddy could potentially be in trouble after allegedly making a three-person phone call while at FCI Fort Dix, as the Bureau of Prisons does not allow inmates to add multiple people to calls.

Combs later stated that the woman he had been speaking to was his attorney, and the man added to the call was the head of legal communications. He further said they had been working on a statement to be sent to The Times. It is unclear what the statement pertained to as of this writing.

The rapper also claimed that he was unaware of the prison rules on phone calls, alleging that he never received the prison admission and orientation handbook. According to a ruling filed on November 4, prison officials recommended that the rapper lose 90 days of phone privileges and commissary privileges for the violation.

Meanwhile, Juda Engelmayer, Diddy's spokesperson, told CBS News that the call was protected under attorney-client privilege, adding:

"It was a procedural call initiated by one of his attorneys and was protected under attorney client privilege. There was nothing improper."

In other news, Diddy has reportedly enrolled in Fort Dix's intensive drug treatment program. He has also started working as a chaplain's assistant in the prison's chapel.
