Josh Allen's wife Hailee Steinfeld's 'Sinners' redefines "power and sensuality" as $303.5 million-worth horror film makes history

Josh Allen’s wife, Hailee Steinfeld, had one of the best performances of her career in Ryan Coogler’s movie, "Sinners." The horror film earned over $303.5 million worldwide, according to Bloomberg.

She praised the filmmaker on Wednesday for creating strong female characters.

“He’s the most phenomenal listener,” Steinfeld said, via Elle USA’s Clover Hope. “He has an innate ability to write these female characters in a way that does not shrink them in the slightest.”

The actress also discussed the movie’s sensual side.

“There was no part of this movie that Ryan was shying away from,” Steinfeld said. “It’s sexy, and it lures you in, and it kicks you out, and it brings you back. You see different versions of what it might feel like, sound like, look like, to be an empowered woman, be in complete ownership of who you are and your power and sensuality.”

Steinfeld played Mary, a white-passing woman in 1930s Mississippi with hidden trauma and a painful past. The movie was recognized at the 68th Grammy Awards on Saturday, earning five nominations.

Steinfeld also appeared on the magazine's cover, shot by photographer Jason Nocito and styled by Jan-Michael Quammie. The shoot was part of Elle’s Women in Hollywood issue.

Steinfeld wore a red Alexander McQueen gown and boots from the same brand.

Hailee Steinfeld stepped fully into her "Sinners" role as Vampire Mary on Halloween. She wore a black crop top with high-waisted jeans and a cropped leather jacker. Steinfeld's hair was in a high pony-tail. She showed off her fangs and carried a playful Blow Pop.

“Happy Halloween 🧛🏻‍♀️,” Steinfeld wrote on Instagram on Oct. 31.

Josh Allen and Steinfeld tied the knot on May 31 in a private ceremony at San Ysidro Ranch in Montecito, California.
