The Gabba in Brisbane is going to host the fifth and final T20I between India and Australia on Saturday (November 8). The Men in Blue currently have a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.

The opening T20I in Canberra got abandoned due to rain, while Australia registered a victory in the second match in Melbourne to get off the mark. The visitors then made a brilliant comeback, winning the next two games in Hobart and Queensland to take a lead in the series.

Team India last played a T20I at the Gabba in Brisbane on November 21, 2018, which was part of a bilateral series. It was a 17-over affair due to inclement weather at the venue on the playing day.

Australia batted first after losing the toss and managed to score 158/4 in 17 overs on the back of contributions from Glenn Maxwell (46), Chris Lynn (37), Marcus Stoinis (33), and Aaron Finch (27). Kuldeep Yadav (2/24) starred for the visitors in the bowling department.

The match officials then revised the target to 174 in 17 overs for India according to the DLS method. Shikhar Dhawan (76) set a good platform for his team in the chase with a steady half-century. However, India lost its way in the middle and got reduced to 105/4 in 11.4 overs.

Dinesh Karthik (30) and Rishabh Pant (20) later played handy cameos and kept the visiting team in the hunt, but they eventually fell five runs short of the target. Adam Zampa played a crucial role for Australia with the ball, delivering a magnificent spell of 4-0-22-2 in successful defense, which also earned him the Player of the Match award.

The subcontinental team faced Australia in 16 of those games, winning nine times. The hosts beat India in five encounters, while two games were abandoned.

After losing the ODI series, India will be eager to beat the home team in the T20I series and clinch the trophy by winning the fifth T20I on Saturday, ending the tour on a positive note.
