The final eight episodes of FRIENDS' spin-off show, Joey, are now available on YouTube for free. These episodes were unreleased after the show was cancelled after just two seasons, almost two decades ago.

Joey was a spin-off show that premiered in 2004. It followed the life of Joey, played by Matt LeBlanc, as he moved to Los Angeles from New York City to pursue acting. It introduced more castmates, including his sister and her child, among others.

However, the show couldn't garner even close to the adulation and views that the original series did. Hence, NBC cancelled it after just two seasons with 46 episodes in total. They didn't even release the last eight episodes, though it was broadcast by some other channels.

All 46 episodes are now available for free on the original series' YouTube channel. Blogger Perez Hilton has reacted to this update, writing on his website on November 20:

"Up until now, we never knew what happened in the last few episodes after it was cancelled in 2006 — but, surprise! What a great Thanksgiving treat! Just in time to snuggle up with your fam and friends, have some good food, and rewatch the whole show."

Interested individuals can catch all 46 episodes of Joey on Friends' YouTube channel. It is, however, geo-locked, so it might not be available in some countries.

Joey was canceled in 2006. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in 2012, Matt LeBlanc shared his thoughts on it, claiming that if it weren't a spin-off, the show would've done well. He spoke about the comparisons with the original series, saying:

”If that was a stand-alone show, we’d probably still be on the air. It didn’t matter who wrote that show or what we wrote about. It was doomed to fail because there were five people missing.”

Meanwhile, before the beginning of the show, LeBlanc had spoken about consulting his other castmates from Friends about the spin-off. She said that they all supported him to go for it, telling Entertainment Weekly in an interview:

"As soon as I heard about it, I went to them and I told them. We have a very honest, open relationship, all of us. I wanted them to hear it from me. I didn’t want there to be any weird vibes. And they’ve all been on board, very supportive the whole way."

LeBlanc added that Joey should not try to be like Friends and that it should entertain audiences in a different way. When asked if he would've preferred another season of the original series instead of a spin-off, LeBlanc said:

"If 'Friends' could continue on, it would be much less scary for me.? I try not to torture myself like that because this one really is the last one. But would I do another one if everyone was in? Yeah, I’d do another one. It’s the best gig in town, man. I got a great parking spot down there. You know how long it takes to get that parking spot?"

Joey also starred the likes of Jennifer Coolidge, Drea de Matteo, Andrea Anders, and Adam Goldberg, among others.
