Franco Colapinto had jibed at Lance Stroll for his clash with Gabriel Bortoleto at the Brazilian GP during the Grand Prix. Subsequently, the Canadian was asked for his reaction to the Argentine's statement, to which he asserted that Colapinto should focus on scoring some points. On the opening lap of the Brazilian GP, Stroll and Bortoleto made contact that sent the Brazilian into the wall, ending his race prematurely. Colapinto had then reflected on the crash and said:
"Stroll is just always taking people out, just not looking in the mirrors, leaving no track, and he put Gabi in the wall. It's what he does every time."Stroll then got to know about Colapinto's thoughts and said in the buildup to the Las Vegas Grand Prix weekend (via Motorsport.com):
"I heard about it. I don't know. Maybe he's frustrated and angry with life. I don't know how many points he has in the championship. I can't tell you... He has zero points. I don't know. He should probably focus on his own things and try to score some points this year."The F1 fandom then shared their thoughts on the whole saga between the two drivers and wrote on X:

So, ahead of the Las Vegas GP weekend, in the press conference, Colapinto was asked why he had only criticized Stroll for his clash with Bortoleto, to which he replied:
"I was just behind, and I just saw the moment. But of course, sorry if it affected him, of course. I was in the heat after the race, and yeah, hopefully it's all good between us. But we've been spending a lot of time together on track in the races. We've been very close to each other, and we had some close fights. "
Thus, Colapinto has apologized for his statement and hopes any clouds that would have cast a shadow over their relationship would have flown away.
