Victor Wembanyama went down with an apparent left knee injury early in the fourth quarter of their game against the New York Knicks on Wednesday. A doctor specializing in physical therapy quickly described the best and worst-case scenarios for the San Antonio Spurs superstar.

With less than two minutes into the final period, Wembanyama grabbed an offensive rebound against two Knicks players. His left leg slipped and his knee buckled before he fell to the floor. He lost possession of the ball, giving it back to the Knicks.

Wembanyama was able to stand on his own power and ran limping back to the locker room. Nevertheless, he was ruled out for the rest of the game, as the Spurs were down by six points when he was subbed out.

It appeared similar to what happened to Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets a couple of days ago against the Miami Heat. Jokic's left knee buckled after teammate Spencer Jones stepped on his foot. He was diagnosed with a hyperextended knee and was ruled out for at least four weeks.

Dr. Evan Jeffries, a doctor of physical therapy and an injury expert on social media, shared his take on Victor Wembanyama's injury. Jeffries believes that the best-case scenario for Wemby is a hyperextended knee or a bone bruise, while the worst is, of course, a torn ACL.

The good news for the San Antonio Spurs was that Victor Wembanyama returned to the bench and was smiling with his teammates. Wembanyama was hyped after the Spurs pulled off a 134-132 win over the New York Knicks, avenging their loss in the NBA Cup Final.
